Adoption Timeline

November 2009: Started doing serious research

February 14, 2010: Applied to AWAA

March 1: Accepted by AWAA into the Ethiopia program! Filled out Grievance Agreement, Privacy Agreement, AWAA agreement, and sent our first program fee installment.

March 4: Started 8 hour Hague training

March 5: Heard from our Family Coordinator Caitlin. Let the paperwork begin!!!!

March 30: Haque training complete!

April 8: George & Shannon's physicals complete and approved by Caitlin

April 26: Home Study documents sent off to AWAA.

May 10: First Home Study visit

May 17: Second Home Study visit

May 20: Third Home Study visit

June 29: Received finalized Home Study

June 29: Mailed off I600A and Home Study

June 30: I600A recieved by USCIS

July 20: Biometrics Appointment

July 21: George takes papers to be certified.

July 22: Receive correctly certified Papers

July 31: I171-H Arrives!!!! Sent our Dossier to AWAA

August 6: DTE!!! The waiting begins!

September 6: 1 Month DTE

October 6: 2 Months DTE

November 6: 3 Months DTE

Home Visit!!!!

We've heard from our NJ Social Worker! Her name is Dana. She says we will have three meetings and she will be here on Monday. HERE on MONDAY!!!!

I just want you to know we are praying for you guys as you trudge thru this crazy adventure! I found the Ethiopia forums on Bethany's website SO exciting and encouraging!
